Job Duties: VIB seeks a Director of Service Contracts who is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and reports directly to, and provides sound counsel to, VIB’s General Manager. Duties include managing multiple contracts with federal, state, and commercial entities to provide a range of professional and labor services through dispersed, locally hosted staff members. The Director will develop new revenue opportunities independently, in collaboration with their VIB peers, and in coordination with the National Industries for the Blind (NIB) as the central nonprofit agency under the federal AbilityOne program. The Director negotiates contract specifications and service levels, monitors performance, solves challenges, and reports results to management and customers. The Director properly staffs, equips, and trains the various functions with employees eager to contribute to the overall success of VIB and our parent organization, the Virginia Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired (DBVI). The Director travels across the Commonwealth to maintain employee morale and performance while strengthening customer relations. Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: Knowledge/Experience - Apply knowledge of programs and analytical methods. Experience in managing administrative and operational aspects of assigned program. Apply knowledge of general financial management principles and practices, human resources management and budgetary principles. Knowledge of Contract and Service Level development. A combination of training and experience to ensure a strong knowledge of teambuilding, goal-setting, and leadership involving service contracts, business development, or operational management. Awareness of Americans with Disabilities Act and accessibility needs for people who are blind. Skills/Abilities - Ability to establish standards and approve policy changes, and to delivery on-time, on-scope management over the delivery of services. Expert communicator through contact with other management, community resources, and programmatic staff to discuss recommendations or provide advice on complex studies, in written and oral forms. Demonstrated ability to coordinate dispersed, statewide program and serve as liaisons between field and central staff. Demonstrated collaboration with peers. Demonstrated ability to collaborate as Counsel to Executive. Additional Considerations: Experience in senior/C-level environments. Legal/Audit experience or certification.
