Job Title: Protestant Parish Music Director Place of Performance: Kirtland Air Force Base Catholic Parish. 1950 2nd St SE, Albuquerque, NM 87116, États-Unis Education and Experience Requirement The Protestant Parish Music Director should: • Possess knowledge and experience in coordinating music for Protestant worship services, including events like memorials and special services. • Demonstrate proficiency in reading music and hold experience across a broad spectrum of Protestant Christian music, encompassing contemporary, gospel, and traditional hymn genres. • Be fully qualified in playing standard piano and electronic keyboard. Furthermore, having experience or proficiency with other musical instruments is advantageous. • Hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. In addition, the candidate must have two (2) years of experience directing music in a church or chapel setting, or alternatively, possess six (6) years or more of experience in playing or directing music within a church or chapel environment. Work Schedule: Hours per week expected: 2 hours minimum a week for rehearsal (1 hour per service). Arrive to service 30 min before projected service start time. The Protestant Service starts at 11:00am. Objectives: Serves as Protestant Parish choral, music, and liturgy director for the Kirtland Air Force Base Protestant Parish. SANFORD Responsibilities: General Responsibilities The Protestant Parish Music Director shall: 1. Ensure all music requirements are met. 2. Prepare and lead music for Protestant worship service during the agreed upon times with instrumental, choral, congregational, and musical presentations as required. 3. Other events that may require the Protestant parish music director’s services may include: · Christmas services (Christmas Eve Service) · Ash Wednesday Service · Holy Week services (Maundy Thursday & Good Friday) · Funeral/memorial services as needed, no more than 6 per year. 4. Conduct practice sessions once a week and any additional practice sessions as needed. 5. Set up and take down all equipment used to provide music for the Sunday worship services and practice sessions. 6. Attend Protestant Parish Committee meetings as required. 7. Maintain a neat, clean, well-groomed, modest, professional appearance and conduct oneself in a business-like manner with a willingness to work within a community of diverse faith expressions, supporting a religiously pluralistic environment. 8. Maintain a professional working relationship with chapel staff, congregation, and other personnel to achieve duties as necessary. Specific Requirements The duties of the Protestant Parish Music Director encompass: · Compiling a suitable list of music for Sunday worship services. · Establishing a monthly schedule by the 15th of each month to plan sessions for the following month and meet worship service needs. · Being present in the sanctuary at least 30 minutes prior to the service's commencement for sound checks with the sound technician and to assist the music team and Senior Protestant Chaplain. · Requesting music and necessary supplies through the NCOIC, Chapel Operations, with a minimum of 30 days' notice before rehearsals. · Seeking approval for supply and music purchases from the Chaplain Corps before procurement. · Completing the AF Form 4356, CTOF Purchase Request Form, as instructed by the NCOIC, Chapel Operations, or Account Technician, as needed. · Ensuring the security and cleanliness of all facilities used in connection with their programs. · Being present for a total of 124 events or units, which include 52 Worship Services, 10 Holy Days and Special Services, and 62 Worship Team Rehearsal.
