Responsibilities: - Develop and implement a comprehensive music program for the organization, including modern gospel, contemporary Christian, tradtional hymns and anthems - Select appropriate musical pieces for worship performances and rehearsals - Conduct rehearsals, teach vocal parts (soprano, alto, etc.) and lead worship performances, including some holidays (Ie: Holy Week, Christmas) - Provide guidance and feedback to musicians and singers to enhance their skills - Collaborate with other staff members and designated volunteers to coordinate music-related activities - Coordinate and oversee music events - Ensure the proper maintenance of musical instruments and equipment - Stay updated on current trends and developments in the music industry Qualifications: - Proven experience as a Music Director or in a similar role - two references required - Strong knowledge of music theory, composition, vocal parts and performance techniques - Excellent leadership and mentoring abilities to guide musicians effectively - Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey musical concepts and instructions - Ability to educate and inspire musicians of all skill levels - Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
