Job purpose The Director of Music Ministry provides excellent musical, administrative, and spiritual leadership in faithful service of the ministry and mission of Village Presbyterian Church. Duties and responsibilities · Coordinate closely with Senior and Associate Pastors and Music Ministry team in planning dynamic, integrated, and inspiring worship services. · Work closely with other Village program directors in planning dynamic, integrated, and inspiring program offerings. · Continually create programs that enrich the musical and spiritual lives of children, youth, and adults. · Attend regularly scheduled meetings of Music Ministry team and wider church as directed by Senior Pastor. · Invite, welcome, and nurture new members to music ministry and the wider church. · Assign vocal and/or instrumental ensembles to Music Ministry team and regularly evaluate and support their leadership. · Work closely with Music Ministry team to plan, schedule, and coordinate worship music, music recitals/concerts, and music ministry. · Consult with the Music Ministry team at Village on Antioch when a program involves or affects the music staff at Village on Antioch. · Prepare an annual budget with input from the Associate Directors of Music and ensure approved funds are spent in accordance with the budget. · Coordinate curation of musical instruments with Music Ministry team. · Provide music for other organizations and ministries in the church, such as worship services, choir rehearsals, weddings, funerals, seasonal productions, and concerts. · Cultivate the congregation's and the wider community's interest in music opportunities. · Other duties as apparent or assigned.
