Director of Music Brownback’s United Church of Christ Position: Director of Music Hours: 8-10 hours per week We are looking for a talented musician with knowledge of traditional and contemporary church music to help develop and oversee our worship music program. We are seeking someone with creativity to enhance our worship service with different musicians, whether it is a choir, a soloist, a small group, or congregational singing of new and contemporary music. Responsibilities: · Assist in worship by leading songs and other music · Lead appropriate rehearsals for vocalists and musicians, as needed · Collaborate with Pastor and staff to create cohesive and impactful worship services; help select appropriate music · Encourage other vocalists and instrumentalists in congregation and larger community to participate in music ministry; guide them in the use of their gifts · Assist as needed with special services including Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Funerals, and others Requirements: · Ability to recruit and develop volunteers · Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills · Demonstrated leadership qualities, vocal abilities, as well as skills on piano/keyboard. Other musical instruments also welcome. Compensation: Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our range is $20.00 - $25.00/hour. This position is designed with the intention of increasing the hours as the music ministry grows. About us Brownback's United Church of Christ has deep roots in Spring City, PA dating back to 1743.
